have to say
controls for flying in space are seriously whacked, and the whole "punch in some numbers really fast even though you probably have no idea where they are" type of hacking is really counter-intuitive. other than that, this game isn't to bad. but, it's not worth a 5/5 or a 10/10. those two things need to seriously be changed.
V-Tech just kicked in yo.
However the game is hyper-responsive. The bosses really arent all that hard. Found the butterfly dudes harder to deal with than the bosses.
Bosses: Stay in one spot and shoot. pretty basic.
Last boss was extremely easy. Just jump over his lazer beam, because he can hit you a few times with himself and it doesnt do anything.
Also by Hyper-responsive I mean that the double-tap, for the longest time as it to recognize it as a double-tap on the > > keys to speed forward, is about 250-350milsec. That's way to long of a wait period.
Other than that, the art and stuff was neat. Story was pretty flippin' bland.
Saw the end twist coming straight from his first halucination.
i vaguely recall seeing this somewhere else - not stolen, just the idea. the twirling your mouse is really annoying because you often move your curser off the flash game's window, and instead of pausing or something remotely intelligent like that, it just keeps jeering your helicopter/hammerslinger thing in that direction. not cool.
not a bad game otherwise.
but the responsiveness of the controls is really crummy for 10seconds.
but hey, if you can improve that on later games, it would be fly as.. jesus yo.
good game, and the best "bible in a nutshell" story ever.
lower score = the better you are like in golf. good job on this. was pretty fun and annoying sometimes tho.
This was really fun. Never played Centipede, but this is pretty entertaining. Good work! Keep it up!
I love classic-looking games. Atari mofo FTW.
i'll give it an 8, it seems the horizontal hit detection is a bit wonkey, and the mouse controls are very awkward. didn't try keyboard ones, but this seems like another case of, "all braun no brains" or, eyecandy but little functionality. it isn't bad though.
Good idea, bad execution..
I'll point out a few things first. One, your character is slippery, and even just so much as tapping the key he moves way to far. Two, this game has a lot of potential, the very idea of it is great, I like the idea of it, but you executed it way wrong, especially for a Demo release. Three, you can't design levels symmetrically, like the "trench warfare" map. I'm assuming that was supposed to be all evenly spaced, between the spiked pillars and whatnot, however the last spike is about one "block" away from being centered, and it's way to tedius just for something insignificant in the game (especially a demo). Four, your after you finally get by that, (if you do rather), you have to go down farther, and go through some spikes, then the game prompts you to "check your map for your location and to quicksave." But then there's a huge red thing that flies at you out of nowhere and unannounced. Not to hard to get by. Five, Once you get by that, you have to fall down through a seemingly impossible pit full of surprises on the way down, that you have a little under half a second to respond to before you get shot back up at your checkpoint. However, this is where that Quicksave function would come into play. "So I'll try to quicksave at the bottom" alright, only if the Demo would let you do that, which, it doesn't. Six, slapping random surprises like that around on a screen that shifts from floor to floor, giving you hardly any time to respond to them at all, makes for a very frustrating game. The majority of this game, when going into a new area is Luck that you don't get nailed by some spike wall or giant red space-crab flying at you from the other side, and a smidgen is skill. So, I give it zero stars, because even though the game's idea was in the right mind, doesn't mean it was in the right hands. Good job either way though, maybe you can take those points into some consideration for the full release, if it isn't out yet, that is.
the music is cool
but the game isnt that great. needs better controls than the mouse... and a shorter time limit :)
